Springfield House
Located approximately 25 kilometres North-West of the Sydney CBD, the Springfield House Function Centre sits within an idyllic bushland setting framed by large native trees and a natural creek line towards the rear. With the increasing use of the function centre and surrounding gardens as a wedding venue, CPS was engaged to design a new landscape scheme to respond, compliment and harmonise with the surrounding landscape.
The client brief also included a space for a large wedding marquee to be erected when required. CPS designed the new landscape to contain ‘pockets’ or ‘zones’ of activity for guests using the space. A breakout outdoor games area was included, along with festoon lighting strung between existing mature Eucalypts.
Natural materials including sandstone logs, decomposed sandstone paths and recycled brick help to create a distinct atmosphere associated with the venue setting. The planting scheme also responded to the existing setting by integrating additional native species with accompanying exotics to create a diverse yet balanced layer of vegetation to the site.
